The system seems to be very unfair, and stacked against those who take the responsible view and try to earn rather than claim.

Have you tried talking to your MP? Might be worth it as they really didn’t intend for people to get caught in the system as you have.

]]> Comment on Temporary work is good for the economy by highpark1 http://blog.jasonperry.org/2009/08/28/temporary-work-is-good-for-the-economy/#comment-1340 Fri, 22 Apr 2011 10:33:28 +0000 http://jasondperry.wordpress.com/2009/08/28/temporary-work-is-good-for-the-economy#comment-1340 i did an tem job from 17th jan till 2nd feb i did the rapid reclaim my jsa reclaim was fine however my housing benefit took 8 weeks to get it back into payment when i had not paid my rent for 4 weeks i got a eviction notice from my landlord, it has cost me £19.45 phoning trying to sort it out, i got no help whatsoever from my job center. birkenhead benefit centre(who are a total discrace) said i did not turn up to sign on at southport job centre on 18th jan i told them i started my job on 17th jan therefore i could not! sign on as i was working. this was why my housing benefit was not being paid the housing wanted to know what money i had coming in from 4th jan- 17th jan( i was on jsa) birkenhead bc told me to get my adviser to fax my pay slips to them i did that, then they said i had to get a letter from the agencie saying when i worked for them and get my adviser to fax it to them this he did 6 times he faxed it to them over a 5 week period birkenhead bc said they did not get the faxes……………….

today i have just got a letter from debt managemet centre gloucestershire… notice of overpayment of jobseekers £121.55 period of overpayment-03/02/2011-15/02/2011 how can i have an overpayment my job ended on the 02/02/2011. now when you do an agency job you have to work a week in hand i started the job on 17th jan my first pay date was 28/01/11 second pay date 04/02/11 3rd pay date 11/02/11 so i have not phoned them am not wasting anymore money on phone calls to me it looks like my job ended on 02/02 reclaimed jsa my pay date was 04/02/- next pay 11/02/ ARE THEY REALLY TELLING ME IF YOU DO AN AGENCEY JOB YOU CAN NOT SIGN BACK ON JSA FOR 12 DAYS WHAT IS THE POINT TRYING!!! TO GET A JOB!!! NEXT I WILL GET A LETTER FROM HOUSING BENEFIT FOR AN OVERPAYMENT SO ALL IN ALL I WILL BE ABOUT £200 OUT OV POCKET FOR WHAT FOR TRYING TO GET A JOB

If you had the idea a month ago you could have joined “The Annual South Downs Way Walk” http://www.southdownsway.com/ . This year’s walk starts on the 18th of June. The best bit about going with these chaps is that they lay on transport for the start and end of each day.
Maybe if you can find a dozen or more bipeds you could copy their transport system.
